11:30 PM Ha!

Hello my friends,

I want you to know how MUCH I value your friendship. I try to picture you as I write. Once again I want to thank you for your prayers on my behalf. I am feeling so “full of life!” Today I scrubbed and waxed my floors, did several loads of washing and even managed to get a little shopping done! WHEW! No wonder I’m a little tired tonight as I write this! Ha! But I am so glad I can actually do housework again and that I am no longer running out of breath every time I bend down (to clean up puppy wee wee)! Ha!

Oh, yes, I can taste food again! Hallelujah! Ha! Ha! Unless you have experienced MONTHS of NOT BEING ABLE TO TASTE ANYTHING, you probably cannot realize how happy I am. I have gained 6 pounds! Everything tastes so good! And… my eyelashes have grown back! YEAAH! Now I don’t have to worry about them “falling off” if I should cry. However, believe it or not, I did go without eyelashes for several days. Ha Ha! Was I BRAVE or what? It turned out to be one of the most FREEING things that has ever happened to me. People still knew me; in fact they didn’t seem to even realize that I had no eyelashes on!!! And my husband still loved me. He said, “Honey, I didn’t marry you for your eyelashes!” Man, that was a relief! Ha Ha! I think God knew that loosing my eyelashes would be a good lesson for me and IT WAS!

I just got back last week from Atlanta, GA where my son, Jay Bakker, has just started a ministry in a bar every Monday night. He asked me to be his first speaker! What a wonderful night we had!! The building must be 100 years old. We got to do our ministry in “Heaven” as the room they call “Pergatory” was too small! Ha Ha!! We had about 200 that attended; people of all kinds and all walks of life. It was awesome! I thought that with that many people drinking it might get rowdy… I didn’t know WHAT to expect. But everyone was respectful and kind and loving and we all enjoyed being together talking about God and His unconditional love for us all. Some real changes were made in precious lives that night.

Then we had an auction to help Jay’s ministry; REVOLUTION. He works so hard in the inner city and has a small staff to pay, so Mom got together some of her “stuff” and we had a ball raising about a thousand dollars for a very good cause. I had signed a pair of shoes (leopard, of course) and someone paid $275.00 for them! Man, I almost took the ones off my feet and auctioned them off, but I liked them too much and would have had to walk around barefooted on those very old plank floors! A girl could have gotten slivers in her feet and I’ve had enough of anything that remotely feels like a NEEDLE! HA HA!

Then I got to do something I thought I’d never do in my whole life. I got to tattoo a cross on a tattoo artist! I had NEVER even touched a tattoo gun and I was so scared I thought I was going to throw up! Now wouldn’t THAT have been embarrassing! It was a wish of his for a long, long time. So, my hand shaking like a leaf… I dipped the needle in the black ink and made a cross but I was shaking so bad it turned out crooked! Well, after a couple of minutes and he didn’t faint and I didn’t throw up I was starting to get the hang of it. My cross was so crooked I decided to straighten it up (brave me) and it ended up looking like it had vines on it. Then I got real brave and put “T.F.” next to it. He said I did real good! I was glad he trusted me enough to do it!

(continued)

Jamie and I got to spend a couple of days just “hanging out” together. It was one of the happiest times of my life. Me and my BABY!! Come on now, he will ALWAYS be my baby! Ha! We shopped (he likes to shop – yeah!) and we ate at his favorite places. Oh, thank you Fred for the free food; the best burritos I’ve ever tasted!

I encourage all of you in Atlanta to attend Jay’s Bible Studies every Monday night at 8:00 PM at The Masquerade, 695 North Ave, Atlanta, GA 30308. Web address: http://www.masq.com. You will be glad you did!!

When I got back home I had to go into surgery to have my “port” removed, as it has NEVER worked. It was in my chest where they first tried to administer the chemo. We finally opted for one in my arm which has worked just fine! I was teasing the doctor to PLEASE make me a good scar. My body is going to look like a puzzle soon! Ha ha!

A documentary is being made by the sane people that did The Eyes of Tammy Faye. They have been with me through the entire process of cancer. In fact they just taped a precious interview with Jay and me talking about Mom and Son stuff. I was crying, Jay was crying… we shared lots of hugs and lots of memories. I LOVE my Jamie and his beautiful little wife Amanda, so much. Then there is my gorgeous daughter, Tammy Sue Bakker (who is just releasing a new CD called, “There Is a Medicine” distributed by Word Records, and is appearing this week on The New Jim Bakker Show, Studio City Café in Branson, MO: http://www.tammysue.com) and my two wonderful grandchildren; James (15) and Jonathan (13). They are the love of Grandma’s life!

I have a new makeup line that you will be hearing about SOON! Be watching for it because we are putting together of my favorite colors just for you! They are GREAT products, I wear them myself every day! I think you are going to love it! We will make the products, prices and colors available to you any day now. I am so excited to be working with great people who KNOW what they are doing and do it well! FINALLY… my own makeup line!

I’ve had lots to share today. I hope I haven’t bored you, my friend. I’m always scared to death that I am going to bore someone! HA! Please continue to pray that my voice will return completely and that my fingers and toes and lips will stop burning all the time.

I love you so much. I’d love to be able to give each and every one of you a GREAT BIG HUG! I’m saving all your letters and emails. They will be my greatest treasures of my life! If I ever get discouraged and feel like giving up I will just get them out and read them again and gain strength from your kindness and love to me.

  Much love,
