Hello Friends,
A funny thing happened yesterday. I couldn’t find my little Yorkie,
Tuppins. I kept hearing this little bark. I followed the sound and
there was Tuppins, at the bottom of the stairs. It looked like he
was just sitting there. I went down to check to see why he wasn’t
bounding up the stairs as usual and what I discovered was so
pitiful. He had gotten one of his little toe nails caught in his fur
and he couldn’t move. He was all ”scrunched up”! I was so glad that
I was there to rescue him which took some doing as I had to
literally take the scissors and cut him free. Ha! I don’t know who
was shaking more, him or me! But one good snip and he was free
again.
When I think of my precious little Tuppins sitting there unable to
move, I can’t help but think of thousands of people that are in that
situation. They are immobilized with fear, by insecurity, by low
self esteem, by drugs and alcohol or other habits they cannot free
themselves of. Anger, jealously and hate have them all tangled up
and they are unable to move forward in their lives. If only they
would let God set them free.
Can you imagine the relief my little dog must have felt as I picked
him up in my arms, hugged his trembling little body and told him
everything was going to be all right, I was going to take care of
him. I was going to “set him free”. And, it wouldn’t even hurt!
That is the message that God has for each and every one of us today.
The Bible says, “Come unto me all yea that labor and are heavy laden
and I will give you rest”. He wants to gather us up in his loving
arms and tell us, “it’s all right, I love you and I will set you
free.” He will set you free of all the things that have you all
tangled up. He is saying today, “my child, just put your trust in
me, I will never fail you.” “I love you just the way you are.”
The Bible says to cast all your cares upon Him for He careth for
you. How wonderful it is to know that you are loved and cared for.
You might say, well that sounds good but how do I do that? You do it
in your own way. You can start out with, “dear God, I recognize the
fact that I am a sinner. I know you died on the cross for my sins, I
ask you right now to forgive me of those sins, I give you me God. I
give you all my faults and failures, I give you the mess I’ve made
of my life and ask you to forgive me and set me free.”
Or you can say. “ Hey God, it’s me. I’ve messed up AGAIN! But man,
if you’ll help me out of this mess I’m in and forgive me AGAIN, this
time with your help I’m gonna make it God. Now God I’m telling ya,
I’m sorry man. Take away the desire for all this stuff I’ve been
getting into.”
God wants you to “say it YOUR way”! Just say it! And mean it!
He will forgive you the instant you ask Him to. No, you won’t be
perfect, yes, you’ll stumble and fall once in while, but the
difference this time is that God is with you rooting for YOU. He’s
saying, “pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going. I’m on
YOUR side!” You will feel Him in your heart! YOU CAN MAKE IT!
